What inspired you to start Chic Sprinkles?
After I graduated from design school my husband and I had to move to Florida for his grad school, so I took a 'work from home' position designing for a large bank. Needless to say, designing for a corporate bank is less than glamourous. I needed a fun and creative go-to outlet in my spare time. A place where I could just be me. I wanted to share the things that I love and of course all the things Coco loves too. Then boom, I started Chic Sprinkles. Its been fun!
Coco is a huge star of your blog! You and she have been featured in Modern Dog magazine and a multitude of other places lately. How did you come about getting her?
She is my little side kick, that's for sure! She was actually a surprise to me from my husband back when we first moved in together in college. We had both always grown up around dogs and the apartment felt so empty without a little fluff ball running around. We are so happy that she came into our adult lives, she lights up every room she's in! For me, a home just isn't a home without a dog.

Your DIYs and recipes are brilliant. I'm in love with the eBook you & Serena made (52 Weeks of Treats) and how beautifully done it is. What inspires your DIYs?
Thanks so much! All of my DIYs stem from wanting pretty things on a budget. With a little creativity you can really make your home or office shine, without paying a fortune! As for the recipes, my little family and I strive to eat grain-free, organic, and minimal processed foods. I'm always wanting to know the ingredients of what we eat, as well as what Coco eats too. It's important to me that she is as healthy as possible, so making recipes at home seemed like the perfect solution. She certainly doesn't mind being the taste tester!
When you aren't working on your blog and other design work, what are some of your favorite things to do, hobbies or places to go?
I love going for long rides through the country and quaint neighborhoods (is that cheesy to say?). Anytime we can pop into an antique shop or grab brunch outside makes for a perfect day.

Chic Sprinkles Inspired Rimming Sugar

This sugar for the rim of this drink is really what makes it. You can put this on a variety of things. Begin by mixing 3 tablespoons of coarse granulated sugar, 2 teaspoons cinnamon, and 2 teaspoons raspberry extract. Toss well with your hands and lay out on a plate and let dry for a little while.
Wet the edges of one pint glass with a tiny bit of lemon or lime juice. I use a paper towel to do this. Water will not work as it will not get sticky enough.
Don't drink alcohol? Maybe just in the mood for something simple? Just pour in cream soda. Or - this doubles as a delicious cinnamon sugar blend for cinnamon toast.

What You'll Need
Coarse sugar
Raspberry extract
Cinnamon
Cream Soda
Optional :: Pama Pomegranate Liquer, GoldSchlager

In the mood for a sweet cocktail on the other hand? Add 1/4 shot glass of Goldschlager and 1/2 shot glass of pomegranate liquer - just a bit! It's not much, but you don't want too much cinnamon, trust me.

This is a great post, what a sweet lady and her dog is so adorable! That drink sounds so delicious, is it too early to drink one??
